There seems to be some sort of telepathy connection between arguably the two most popular groups of 2007, Big Bang and the Wonder Girls.
Their main title tracks of “Lie” and “Tell Me” from their respective albums were super popular and always either took the number 1 or 2 spot on various music charts. Their follow-up songs of “Last Farewell” and “Ee Babo” followed the same pattern and some sort of link seems to have established between them.
On music websites like Melon, Jukeon, Dosirak recently, Big Bang’s “Last Farewell” and Wonder Girls “Ee Babo” seems to have make a pact between themselves as they hogged the number 1 and 2 spots on the popular songs chart. The number 3 and 4 spots on Muz also belongs to them and they are seemingly inseparable like chinese sticky cake.
The main reason though is because the release date of their songs are always close to each other and other reasons include the distinct characteristics and charisma of each group which has endeared them to fans.
“Lie” was released in the middle of August last year on various music websites and created a whirlwind. “Tell Me” came from Wonder Girls debut album and since it’s release at the start of September last year, it’s infectious beat and dance has won immense popularity throughout Korea. The follow-up songs, “Last Farewell” was released towards the end of November while “Ee Babo” debuted at the beginning of December.
Both “Lie” and “Last Farewell” have a strong rythmn coupled with excellent rapping and vocals which helped to bring out Big Bang’s personality and character. Meanwhile, “Tell Me” and “Ee Babo” belonged to the retro craze of the 80s and brings out the flavor in Wonder Girls.
